Klaus
Riesenhuber is a German citizen, and a member of the Japan Province of
the Society of Jesus. He joined the Society of Jesus in 1958, and was
ordained a priest in 1971. He is currently a Professor in the
department of Philosophy at Sophia University in Tokyo. Among his major
works are Hören auf den
Anruf - zur transzentental konstitutiven Funktion des Wortes (1984),
and Theology and the Question of
God in Heidegger (1990). Father Riesenhuber is a regular
practitioner of Zen Buddhism, and he frequently conducts sessions in
Zen meditation both for Japanese and foreigners at the SJ House, which
is the Jesuit residence of Sophia University.
